MARTIN FONDSE ORCHESTRA FEAT. LENINE
Friday6 November 2015

Brazilian singer/guitarist Lenine and the Martin Fondse Orchestra take inspiration from the Maurício de Nassau bridge in Recife, which symbolizes the relationship between Brazil and The Netherlands.

Singer/songwriter Oswaldo Lenine Macedo Pimentel, or Lenine, has been active in Brazilian music for over 30 years, with 10 albums on his name and numerous songs recorded by celebrities such as Maria Bethânia, Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento. The Recife-born singer/guitarist will perform at the Bimhuis with the 9-piece Martin Fondse Orchestra.

The Bridge is a special concert inspired by the Maurício de Nassau Bridge in Recife, a replica of a bridge on the river Amstel in Amsterdam. The bridge symbolizes the historical ties between Brazil and The Netherlands. The concert connects compositions by Fondse with highlights from Lenine’s career, including songs such as Jack Soul Brasileiro, Paciência en A Ponte.

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 till 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
