Exciting cinematic jazz by celebrated Polish threesome and Swedish saxophonist, who have previously collaborated with Tomasz Stańko. Their album Spark of Life appeared on the ECM label.

Pianist Marcin Waslisewki’s trio is very close; still in their thirties, these three musicians have played with Polish jazz trumpet hero Tomasz Stańko for 15 years. With him they share a love for film composer Krysztof Komeda, who made captivating soundtracks for among others Rosemary’s Baby by Roman Polanski. The lyrical sound of Swedish saxophonist Joakim Milder is a perfect fit for the trio, whose impressive repertory includes original compositions alongside works by among others Komeda, Herbie Hancock and The Police.

The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is at the top of Polish jazz and celebrates international success as well. Pianist Marcin Wasilewski was included in the Downbeat Critics Polls and has won a Paul Acket Award at North Sea Jazz. The collaboration with saxophonist Joakim Milder turned out successful; their collaborative album Spark of Life (ECM) earned a gold record and won a Fryderyk, the most important Polish music prize.
