Footpints Conference Change of the Century

Liv Andrea Hauge trio & Pixvae

Double concert featuring up-and-coming European jazz groups, featuring Norwegian talents, Afro-Colombian sounds, and more.

In the context of the conference Footprints Europe, which is about a more sustainable and inclusive live music system, we present two double concerts featuring promising European bands. On Wednesday 8 March we welcome the Amalia Umeda Quartet and the Teis Semey Quintet. Performing on Thursday 9 March are the Liv Andrea Hauge Trio and the group Pixvae.

Pianist Liv Andrea Hauge, known for her work with Kongle Trio, is considered one of the promising new names from the Norwegian jazz scene. She blends the joy of exploring impulses in free improvisation with clear melodic compositions. In her new trio she is joined by Georgia Wartel Collins on bass and August Glännestrand on drums.

The seven-piece ensemble Pixvae was formed in Lyon’s musical underground. It represents the trans-continental odyssey of saxophonist, keyboardist and band leader Romain Dugelay. At the heart of his new music is the currulao, the Afro-Colombian traditional music. The characteristic marimba will be played by Colombian percussionist Juan Carlos Arrechea.
