LAHO GROUP FEAT. BEN VAN GELDER

The Los Angeles-based Dutch jazz drummer Kevin van den Elzen presents his American band LAHO (L.A.-Holland) featuring special guest Ben van Gelder on alto saxophone.

This concert is broadcasted on Bimhuis Radio

For the last two years young Dutch drummer Kevin van den Elzen has been active in Los Angeles as student and assistant of legendary Weather Report drummer Peter Erskine at the Thornton School of Music, and as a band leader himself. With his LAHO Group he aims to establish a permanent exchange between L.A. and Amsterdam.

At the BIMHUIS, Van den Elzen and his American band members present their own compositions together with Ben van Gelder, alto saxophonist and ‘boy wonder of Dutch jazz’ (NRC). In The Netherlands, Kevin van Elzen is already known as the leader of the Dutch Concert Big Band, which specializes in music by Dutch jazz composers from the 1960s and 70s.
