Konrad Koselleck Big Band with Claron McFadden

The Konrad Koselleck Big Band is continuously searching for challenging combinations. This time, the band gives their take on music by Beck, Jacob ter Veldhuis and Baroque composer Purcell, among others. Soprano Claron McFadden takes care of the vocals.

The Konrad Koselleck Big Band is something else. Time and again band leader Koselleck finds adventurous combinations of jazz, cabaret, musical, pop, rock, funk, Latin and even classical music. The repertoire ranges from Brecht and Weill to Nina Hagen and Rammstein, plus many new works by contemporary composers.

‘Koselleck has a keen sense of atmosphere, he knows when to slow down or fire up the band… the conviction of an ecstatic big band is phenomenal’ (de Volkskrant).

‘Sure, it’s as loud and impressive as a big band is supposed to be, but beyond that it’s a revelation to hear how serene this bunch of metal can become, how Koselleck makes use of all the dynamic possibilities of his ensemble’ (de Volkskrant).
