Jure Pukl is one of Slovenia’s most prolific and creative saxophonists, and performs all over the world as one of the new generation of musicians shaping the future of jazz. This show features the lineup from his recent album, Doubtless: tenor sax frontline of Jure Pukl and his partner Melissa Aldana (New York-based Chilean musician and first female instrumentalist to win the prestigious Thelonious Monk Award, which she took home in 2013), with bassist Joe Sanders and drummer Greg Hutchinson, both from New York. Doubtless was released on Greg Osby’s Inner Circle label.

‘Pukl combines the skill, soul, and appetite for adventure that has fuelled jazz evolution from the beginning, and he’s a rising star of a creative new generation that is energetically driving the music on into its second century’ (The Guardian).

‘A combination of deep sound, virtuosity, harmonic and rhythmic creativity’ (Radio Belgrade).
