Julian Lage is taking the jazz world by storm with his unadorned, melodic sound, which incorporates typically American styles such as swing, bluegrass and rock ’n’ roll. The prizewinning guitarist is connected to the legendary jazz label Blue Note, which has released several of his albums. His band features the cream of the New York jazz crop.
At a very young age, Julian Lage already gained recognition from such greats as Santana and Gary Burton. He became a protégé of Jim Hall, one of the all-time greatest jazz guitarists. In recent years, Julian Lage explored many genres, from traditional jazz and country to avant-garde, in collaboration with the likes of Bill Frisell, Chris Thile, and John Zorn.
