Josee Koning has received praise for her velvet timbre, both in The Netherlands and Brazil. As the first singer in this country she devoted herself to Brazilian music, initially with the band Batida and then solo. Her eleventh solo album Doce Presença was produced by the famous Brazilian pianist and singer Ivan Lins, who describes the music as ‘delicate, intimate, melodic and with great lyrics.’ To celebrate this special musical collaboration, the four-time Grammy winner will be special guest at a trio of concerts in the Netherlands, including this one at our venue.
Josee will be accompanied by an international band featuring master guitarist Leonardo Amuedo, who currently lives in the United States. He will bring along his son, the talented drummer Danilo Amuedo. Pianist Hans Vroomans has been accompanying Josee for years and is an absolute specialist in the Brazilian repertoire. Versatile bassist Matheus Nicolaiewsky completes the quartet.
