JAKOB BRO TRIO FEAT. JOEY BARON, THOMAS MORGAN

The layered sound textures of Danish guitarist Jakob Bro, a favorite of Kurt Rosenwinkel, form the basis for this trio featuring New York drummer Joey Baron.
Danish guitarist Jakob Bro was recently counted among the ‘80 Coolest Things in Jazz Today’, in the special 80th edition of leading jazz monthly Downbeat. Jakob’s layered sound textures form the basis for this trio featuring bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Joey Baron, a key figure in the New York downtown scene. Jakob Bro has played in the bands of Paul Motian and Tomasz Stańko, and on his own albums he has already worked Lee Konitz and Bill Frisell, among others. Jakob’s atypical playing, more clouds of sound that the usual chords and solo’s, has already caught the attention of famous fellow guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel.
‘Bro’s clouds of sound touch states of being that music rarely reaches’ (Jazz Times).
