Turkish clarinet maestro Hüsnü Şenlendirici, praised for his breathtaking improvisations in Taksim Trio, presents his own ensemble.
Clarinet player Hüsnü Şenlendirici is a celebrity in his homeland Turkey and in The Netherlands he has celebrated success with Taksim Trio, which combines Ottoman classical music, Anatolian gipsy music, blues, raga and flamenco. ‘The improvisations veer between melancholy and eerie beauty’, said the newspaper Parool. The Turkish maestro presents his own Breathing Ensemble at the Klarinetfestival.
DUTCH CLARINET FESTIVAL
From 7 to 10 April a new festival,
dedicated to the clarinet, will take place in Amsterdam. Top-class
artists from classical, jazz, pop and world music will come together at
Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and Bimhuis, where they will be joined by
students, amateur players and audiences alike. The result: a melting pot
of clarinet enthusiasts from all over the world.
