Hoorteksten (Radio Plays) has two parts: Zwaar Water (Heavy Water) and Voices and Piano. Composer/saxophonist Maarten Ornstein created a dozen mini radio plays about ‘water, food or love….or a combination of those’. He invited writers like Adriaan Jaeggi, Gillis Biesheuvel, Maria Barnas and Sanneke van Hassel. Zwaar Water will mainly be performed live, as well in text, music and background sounds. About Voices and Piano composer Peter Ablinger says: ‘I see Voices and Piano as my song cycle, although nobody sings in it: the voices are spoken statements form speeches, interviews and lectures. The piano doesn’t really accompany the voices, the relationship between them is one of competition or comparison.’ Guy Vandromme plays the piano. Programma: Maarten Ornstein: Zwaar Water (world premiere) Peter Ablinger: Voices and Piano
