Hermine Deurloo with Gwilym Simcock & Mike Walker

Lyrical mix of guitar, piano and harmonica.

Fascinated by the sound, Hermine Deurloo traded in her saxophone for the chromatic harmonica. It turned out well for her. Deurloo played with a wide range of artists including Steve Gadd, Rembrandt Frerichs, and the Metropole Orchestra.

British musicians Gwilym Simcock (Pat Metheny’s main pianist) and guitarist Mike Walker have been playing together for a long time, for example in The Impossible Gentlemen. They share their love for many different styles, from jazz to rock, and from classical to folk.

The three virtuosos met each other for the first time at the Ambleside Jazz Festival. Unanimous praise from the press and the audience led to more concerts. Unique about the trio is the natural fusion of guitar, piano and harmonica. Most of the compositions were written by Simcock, with several contributions by the other two.
