HANS DULFER ROUTE 60/75

- 20:30
Smashing conclusion of the anniversary tour Route 60/75 by ‘tough tenor’ and Bimhuis-co-founder Hans Dulfer: 75 years young and 60 years active as a tenor saxophonist.
Hans Dulfer concludes his very successful anniversary tour at the Bimhuis on October 1, a special date: October 1, 1974 was the opening date of the Bimhuis, of which Dulfer was one of the founders. This year he celebrates his 75th birthday and his 60th year as a tenor sax player. During his career Hans Dulfer has kept his ears open for new sounds, energetic beats and catchy melodies. The press is raving about his current band featuring guitarist Jerôme Hol, double bassist Eric Barkman and drummer Cyril Directie. Their Route 60/75 Road Tour has stopped at among others a sold-out Melkweg and a packed hall at North Sea Jazz.
‘Dulfer still blows with overwhelming energy’ (de Volkskrant).
‘Only a ‘tough tenor’ can bring together a break dancer, a rough rapper, an electronic beat maker and a double bassist for a radical new vision of jazz rock’ (NRC Handelsblad).
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 till 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
