Italian jazz pianist and singer Francesca Tandoi has been hailed by critics and peers as a rising jazz star and one of the most enthralling young talents on the International jazz scene. In just a few short years, she has earned international acclaim as a world-class pianist and vocalist. Her success has a Dutch dimension: she was discovered while studying at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Now she will perform with Brazilian double bassist Matheus Nicolaiewsky and Dutch drummer Sander Smeets.
The piano trio is Francesca Tandoi’s favorite setting and she has released two albums with her current formation, When in Rome and the recent Bop Web. She also appears on more than 25 other recordings, alongside top players such as saxophonist Scott Hamilton. Legendary pianist Monty Alexander was positively carried away by her playing and said: ‘Francesca Tandoi is a supremely tasteful swinging piano player. Her vocals are exquisite, her compositions are melodic and memorable, and her arrangements are extremely thoughtful.’
