For the project ARRIVAL! the Fire! Orchestra took on a new form, largely acoustic and with a dominant focus on strings and clarinets. As in previous incarnations, modules of riff fundaments will develop into something unique every time, and the voices of Mariam Wallentin and Sofia Jernberg will continue to be the creative frontline.
In 2011 the members of Fire! Decided to expand their experimental trio into an orchestra, with interesting musicians from different areas, from jazz and improv to rock. Saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, who’s also a member of The Thing, acts as composer and conductor, giving room to a wide range of influences from avant-jazz to folk, noise and krautrock.
