Saxophone summit with four world class tenor players, including Eric Alexander from New York, fired on by the piano trio of ‘Professor Bop’ Rein de Graaff.

Pianist Rein de Graaff has brought over jazz heroes from the States to the Netherlands for decades now. He has something up his sleeve for tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander from New York: an exciting meeting with three terrific tenor players from The Netherlands. Sjoerd Dijkhuizen plays in New Cool Collective and the 18 year-old Gideon Tazelaar is making name in the festival scene with Oosterdok 4. For forty years Ferdinand Povel has remained one of the best and most in-demand saxophonists in The Netherlands. This has everything to do with his crystal clear and, at the same time adventurous style of improvising. A timeless summit in the spirit of the ‘tough tenors’ of bop and jazz.
