Early Show: Sun-Mi Hong Quintet – Second Page: A Self-Strewn Portrait

Sun-Mi Hong plays the emotions and her drums in intricately wrought melodies, performed by international super talents.

Her passion for drums led her alongside many steep paths and winding roads, but in the end Sun-Mi Hang landed in Amsterdam. From out here the conquers Europe with her inviting music en her challenging style of playing, that’s both progressive as well as rooted in tradition.

Sun-Mi Hong has mastered the sounds and techniques of traditional jazz drumming, but she’s gladly willing to forge new paths. On her album A Self-Strewn Portrait we hear catchy melodies alongside impressionistic patterns, performed with freedom by a list of international superstars
