Dox 25: Benjamin Herman Trio (+ Anton Goudsmit), Gideon van Gelder & Lilian Vieira, Gijs Idema & ADAM Quartet

Famous artists and rising stars celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dox with two days of concerts.

Amsterdam-based music company Dox is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. In recent years, Dox has promoted the careers of leading artists such as Benny Sings, Benjamin Herman, New Cool Collective, and Reinier Baas. On the occasion of this anniversary, Dox curates two nights on our stage. The first night features celebrated Dutch jazz artists.

Benjamin Herman Trio (+ Anton Goudsmit)
Benjamin Herman is one of the best known and most respected saxophonists in The Netherlands. As a solo-artist and band leader of New Cool Collective he has released over fifty albums. He collaborated with everyone from Dr. John to Paul Weller, and from Han Bennink to Rein de Graaff. The Benjamin Herman Trio is a mainstay in his life. Together with bass talent Thomas Pol and jazz drummer Joost Patočka he has released several albums. Now they will perform works from this oeuvre, with special guest Anton Goudsmit on guitar.

Gideon van Gelder & Lilian Vieira
Lilian Vieira celebrated international success with Brasil electro band Zuco 103. The versatile Brazilian singer could also be heard in many smaller, acoustic line-ups. Pianist Gideon van Gelder gathered acclaim in the international press with his albums Perpetual and Lighthouse. He collaborated with José James, Benjamin Herman, Becca Stevens, and many others. As a duo, they interpret the music of Toninho Horta. Brazilian musician Toninho Horta is one of the most important composers in Brazilian classical music and jazz. As a guitarist and arranger, he has worked with stars such as Elis Regina, João Bosco and Sérgio Mendes.

Gijs Idema & ADAM Quartet
Guitarist Gijs Idema studied at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Manhattan School of Music in New York. His most recent album Shaping Time is the sequel to the solo album Making Time, which appeared in August 2020. While the solo album focused on relatively introvert electric guitar, Shaping Time shifts towards a bigger frame by adding the ADAM Quartet and singer Anna Serierse.
