DAVID KWEKSILBER BIG BAND

Like no other group of its kind, the David Kweksilber Big Band band demonstrates why the climate for ensemble music in the Netherlands receives world wide praise. The big band brings together one-of-a-kind classical musicians and improvisers. Besides new works by composers from a wide range of styles, the repertoire consists of ground-breaking historical big band compositions, like Robert Graettinger’s City of Glass. The big band plays the Bimhuis every two months, on the last Monday of the month. The featured soloists are, amongst others, soprano Claron McFadden, clarinet player David Kweksilber and Wiek Hijmans on electric guitar, in a premiere of a Floris van Bergeijk composition.
