DAVE HOLLAND TRIO feat. KEVIN EUBANKS & OBED CALVAIRE

New trio led by one of the most important living jazz masters of today, double bassist/composer Dave Holland, who made name collaborating with Miles Davis.

British double bassist/composer Dave Holland is one of the ten most important living jazz masters according to Downbeat Magazine. He played on innovative Miles Davis albums such as In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew, but he also created flamenco with the famous Spanish guitarist Pepe Habichuela.

At the Bimhuis, Dave Holland has already performed with guitarist Kevin Eubanks several times, in the electric band Prism. Now he forms a new trio with the American guitarist who previously collaborated with, among others, Art Blakey, Roy Haynes and Sam Rivers. Obed Calvaire is the ideal drummer for the versatile formation bringing together jazz, blues, rock and funk.

‘Dave Holland, much like bass giant, composer and bandleader Charles Mingus before him, thinks and listens as intently as he plays. By doing so, this British-born, New York-based luminary creates maximum emotional impact and meaning with every carefully considered note he produces’ (Jazz Times).
