Together with 16 young musicians, double bassist Tony Overwater and percussionist Hashem Kabreet will take you on an exciting musical journey through experimental jazz and hot-blooded folk music. In two days full of unexpected musical encounters and experimentation, eight students from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and eight musicians from the Middle East will create a unique one-off concert, coached by Overwater and Hashem. The starting points of the Orchestre Partout Labs are set, the outcomes uncertain. Transport, alienation and infectious energy go hand in hand.
Tony Overwater, one of the best-known Dutch bassists, is a versatile musician, composer, soloist and bandleader. He won the Boy Edgar Prize and an Edison and has collaborated with great musicians such as Karin Hammar, Yuri Honing, Pat Metheny, David Murray, Paolo Fresu, Eric Vloeimans and others.
Co-host and co-creator of the Orchestre Partout Labs is Hashem Kabreet. The Syrian-born percussionist (frame drums/derbuka/cajon) and handpan player knows how to guide any diverse group of musicians through the creative process. Hashem is the constant factor in all Orchestre Partout Labs.
