BUD SHANK & REIN DE GRAAFF

The present Bud Shank is a lot more than the legendary West Coast alto player with the recognizable cool sound. In the mid 80’s he quit his studio work and flute playing to focus entirely on the alto saxophone. This resulted in the development of a more open and modern style opposed to the soft, melodic approach in the 50’s. With his 75 years of age he is, more than ever, an adventurous soloist.
