Brad Mehldau trio

The most influential jazz pianist of his generation is back at the BIMHUIS with his main trio, for two concerts.

Twenty years ago Brad Mehldau performed at the BIMHUIS for the first time, and since then he has developed into the most influential jazz pianist of his generation. He was the first one to combine standards with daring interpretations of songs by Radiohead and Nirvana, in compelling concerts in an avowedly narrative vein.

In his performances, Mehldau combines his classical background with his love for catchy melodies and daring experiments. The pianist will now return for two nights with his main trio featuring double bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard, who are also leading players in the contemporary jazz world.
