Brad Mehldau Trio

The most influential jazz pianist of his generation is back at the Bimhuis with his main group, for three concerts. ‘A graceful powerhouse’ (New York Times).

20 years ago Brad Mehldau performed at the Bimhuis for the first time, and since then he has developed into the most influential jazz pianist of his generation. He was the first to combine standards with daring interpretations of songs by Radiohead and Nirvana, in compelling concerts in an avowedly narrative vein. He now returns for three nights with his main trio featuring double bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard, two leading players in the contemporary jazz world.

‘A dizzying alternative to what comes out of most piano trio music’ (Penguin Guide to Jazz).

‘The trio created a private world for their listeners to get lost in’ (The Guardian).

‘A graceful powerhouse’ (New York Times).
