Bill Frisell Harmony

American guitar icon presents new music with vocals and cello.

Bill Frisell is counted among the top guitarists in America. All kinds of American style collide in his electric guitar playing, from jazz to country. Once again, his current band Harmony is strongly influenced by the interaction between strings and plucked instruments in bluegrass. The songs are interpreted by singer Petra Haden, the daughter of bass legend Charlie Haden, with Hank Roberts on cello, and Luke Roberts on bass and guitar.

Harmony has originated from the eponymous album on the jazz label Blue Note. Alongside original songs by Bill Frisell, the album contains songs that were previously interpreted by Elvis Costello, Pete Seeger, and Duke Ellington. In the past thirty-five years, Bill Frisell played on hundreds of albums, with the likes of John Zorn, Elvis Costello, and Lucinda Williams. This weekend the guitarist and his band will give two concerts on our stage.
