Arve Henriksen / Harmen Fraanje

Mysterious tunes and soundscape by this brandnew duo.

Trumpeter Arve Henriksen and pianist Harmen Fraanje first played together at the Transition Festival in Utrecht in 2019. They improvised, but it felt more like songs arose spontaneously. ‘It felt so easy to find each other in the music, to follow the flow, to feel the direction of the melody.’ After this concert Henriksen and Fraanje knew that a new duo was born.

Arve Henriksen is a trumpet player, singer and composer from Norway. He released many albums on ECM and performed with a lot of musicians, such as Jon Christensen, Dhafer Youssef, Sidsel Andresen, Bill Frisell, Jaga Jazzist, Mats Eilertsen, Laurie Anderson, Gavin Bryars, David Sylvian.
