Amsterdam Klezmer Festival: Amsterdam Klezmer Band, Folkdivizjon, Klezmagic, Klezmokum
The first edition of the Amsterdam Klezmer Festival takes place from 18 to 21 September 2025, an initiative by the Amsterdam Klezmer Band (AKB). Since 1996, AKB has been breathing new life into klezmer, as musical performer and cultural builder — with performances worldwide and collaborations that cross genre boundaries. The festival is a natural continuation: a four-day programme presenting klezmer as a living genre, full of movement, hybrid forms, and new voices.
Tonight, the festival takes over the BIMHUIS, our venue, with performances by Klezmokum, Amsterdam Klezmer Band ft. Sanem Kalfa, Guy Salamon and others, Folkdivizjon, and Klezmagic.
