About Fuensanta
Fuensanta is a singer, double bassist and composer – born in Veracruz, Mexico and based in Amsterdam. Whether with her nine-piece Ensamble Grande, in trio as Perselí or as a solo artist, Fuensanta interweaves atmospheric play with poetry and folklore like no other into new forms. After a musical childhood in Mexico, Fuensanta moved to the Netherlands to continue her development at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Here she graduated summa cum laude and her creative career gained momentum. Fuensanta works at the heart of a new cosmopolitan scene of Dutch jazz musicians. She collaborates with musicians such as Marta Arpini, Alistair Payne, Sun-Mi Hong, Teis Semey, Tineke Postma, Ben van Gelder and Han Bennink.
