Almost all the concerts on our stage over the past 50 years have been recorded, starting with audio-only and, since 2018, also on video thanks to BIMHUIS TV. This entire archive has been digitized and is now under the care of Allard Pierson, the museum in Amsterdam that collects, manages, opens up, researches, and presents valuable cultural heritage. From now on, part of our archive will be available to listen to and watch there until January 2025.
There’s a mini version of our building in the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam or OBA in short (Public Libraries) located at Oosterdok. Take a seat in this mini version and watch your favorite BIMHUIS TV concerts.
BIMHUIS Café
We are celebrating 50 years of existence, which is the perfect reason to look back on everything we’ve experienced together. Over the past decades we delved into the archives and uncovered countless treasures: reviews, opinion pieces on the state of jazz in the Netherlands and eye-catching posters. In a nutshell, a series of highlights and challenges from 50 years of jazz history. Presenting, curating, and producing new music stirs up many opinions on nearly everything. And where better to freely share those opinions than in our very own café? Join us on a trip through time and get involved in 50 years of jazz history in our café.
