Contrabassist Eric Revis speelt zo krachtig en zelfverzekerd dat hij er overal uitspringt, zowel op het met een Grammy bekroonde album Contemporary Jazz van Branford Marsalis als in compromisloze improvisatiebands. Zo speelt hij in dit trio met de avontuurlijke pianiste Kris Davis uit New York, met wie hij het verrassende album City of Asylum (Clean Feed) opnam. Slagwerker John Betsch is sinds de jaren ’70 actief in ensembles van o.a. Abdullah Ibrahim, Archie Shepp en Steve Lacy.
